
NIIKAPPU, Hokkaido -- Young horses born this year are making an adorable sight as they snuggle alongside their mothers, eat grass and run about at ranches in Niikappu, Hokkaido. The town, which is famous for the breeding of racehorses, has a road lined with equestrian ranches for about eight kilometers. The foaling season peaks in March and April.
