A new footpath has been opened on the banks of the Italian Lake Garda and is not for people with weak hearts. The path, dedicated for riders and pedestrians, was built 50 meters above the water surface, along the banks of the lake in northern Italy.
The place has a wonderful scenery, but it's terrifying for people suffering from acrophobia, the German news agency reported.
The construction of the 2.5-kilometer-long path cost the local authorities around 7 million euros ($13.8 million) and is located between the cities of Limone and Riva Del Garda. It is a good addition to an already existing road, which has become 12 kilometers long.
This footpath is built as part of the "Garda by Bike" project, and will offer a long passage for pedestrians. Once finished, it will cover a distance of over 140 kilometers on the lake shores.
