New football sessions in West Lothian for people struggling with mental health

A mental health support group are offering football therapy sessions in West Lothian.

Kick Mental Health tackles mental health problems through physical activity and they are encouraging any interested parties to come along to their sessions every Monday at Bannatyne Health Club in Livingston.

The group was started by Ally Bingham, from Lanark, last year when he became concerned about the lack of activities for people struggling with their mental health. After sessions in his home town, he also decided to start a night in Livingston.

He said: “I was seeing close friends struggle with their mental health in Lanark and decided to start up the group.

“If we can help just one person realise there is support here for them, then it is doing its job.

“As well as the advantages of exercise, the social aspect is also a great way to combat mental health and the feeling of being lonely.

The sessions run every Monday from 7.30-8.30pm. Interested parties should email: kickmental
