Down here is one snippet of Kevin Durant playing basketball again.
It is so good to see the superstar back on a court with his Brooklyn Nets teammates, putting up a silky-smooth jumper and nailing it, a preview of things to come soon when the most intriguing team heading into the 2020-21 season tips off.
But to many NBA fans, it was a worrisome clip.
On Thursday night, fans were alarmed by the fact that he had to shake off Joe Harris — shorter and not generally known for his defensive prowess — in the process. To me, that’s absurd! It’s one little snippet from one practice, and it’s the smallest of sample sizes. Come to me when we see Durant’s first 10 games back and we’ll dissect the film.
