New footage emerges of Andy Robertson's 'fight' after Liverpool beat Leicester City

Liverpool's win over Leicester City was dramatic enough without what happened following the final whistle.

Seconds after referee Chris Kavanagh blew for time on a 2-1 Reds win at Anfield on Saturday, an unseemly melee broke out towards the Kop end between several players from both sides.

At the centre of it all were Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and Leicester City substitute Ayoze Perez.

It was initially unclear what prompted the incident, although Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers later said: "According to the guys, Andy Robertson celebrated and pushed him at the final whistle which he probably didn’t expect!

"He was obviously annoyed at that and it leads to a melee. But it was nothing."

However, Australian sports channel Optus Sport have now replayed the incident from the very start.

And the footage shows that while Robertson gave Perez the slightest of nudges in the midriff with his elbow as he walks past him, the Leicester man responds with a similar jab before going back and shoving Robertson with both hands in the back as he prepares to celebrate with Virgil van Dijk.

James Milner and Adam Lallana instantly jump to the defence of their team-mate by grabbing Perez before a number of other players become involved and Youri Tielemans drags the Leicester player away.

No action was taken by referee Kavanagh and with no punches thrown or hands raised, it's unlikely there will be any further repercussions.
