New fish and chip shop to open at Beechdale Retail Park

A fish and chip has been revealed for the Beechdale Retail Park.

The Mother Hubbard's franchise has applied to the city council to advertise its signage at a unit at the site.

With branches across the country, a statement on the company's website states: "Mother Hubbard's is one of the UK's most iconic fish and chips brands.

"It has great potential available, from major tourist towns and major cities."

A Lidl supermarket and Costa Coffee drive-through opened at the retail park off Beechdale Road last October and other retailers have followed suit, including Subway and Greggs.

The Beechdale swimming baths shut in 2015 after the city council opened the £16 million Harvey Hadden Sports Village, which has its own swimming facilities.

The dishevelled former bathhouse, built in the 1970s, was demolished in 2017.

The site sat empty until work began on the redevelopment in 2019.

Nottinghamshire Live has attempted to contact Mother Hubbard's for comment.
