New first of its kind delivery platform for independent businesses coming to Liverpool

A new delivery platform aimed at supporting independent businesses is launching in Liverpool next month.

Shopping platform Shocal originally launched in Manchester as the world's first shopping platform for independent businesses and it will be expanding to Liverpool in June.

Shocal began in the Trafford area of Manchester back in September 2019 before quickly growing to cover the whole city.

Its founder has chosen Liverpool as the next city to expand to because of its "huge sense of community".

Shocal is strictly for independent businesses and aims to offer something that to date, no other delivery platform can. Multiple shop and restaurant orders are delivered at the same time, all for just one delivery fee.

Shocal delivers restaurant and takeaway food, alongside the delivery of any kind of independent businesses from florists and gift shops to hardware shops, cake makers, balloon stores and more. Any independent business which can be found on the high street is able to utilise Shocal.

Those nights where you simply can't agree on which takeaway to order from will no longer be headache-inducing, as the Shocal app can deliver from multiple sites. If you fancy a pizza but your partner wants a curry and your friend is craving a burger, none of you will have to compromise.

Shocal also aims to deliver in under one hour.

Founder of Shocal Ashley Washington said: "We wanted to create a platform solely for independent businesses where there is not competition from big brands and corporations. We also wanted to create a community feel with the businesses on the platform, which the multiple orders achieves as they know at the point of receiving an order that they are part of a multi order."

Ashley added: "The success we have had over the past 18-20 months in Manchester with over 40,000 active users, crossing the M62 was the next logical step as Liverpool's huge sense of community is everything Shocal is about."

Not only does Shocal offer a delivery service they also champion non-league football and local events via their E-Ticket service helping sell out events in minutes, to go along side that they also offer ‘book a service’ and send a parcel which allows you to send a parcel anywhere in the city in less than one hour.

If you are an independent business owner or a business that requires advance booking, you can contact enquiries@shocal.org or visit www.shocal.org for more information.
