Regular visitors to the GuardianWitness site will notice some new features that we hope will give you more ways to get involved with assignments and explore what's been submitted.
Recommendations
We've introduced a 'recommend' button to all contributions. If you're logged in to GuardianWitness, you can show your appreciation of content by recommending it. You can also filter what's already been submitted to an assignment by the most recommended items.
Embed code
Each picture, video or text submission to an assignment will now be available to embed. This allows users to embed their own contributions, or others', on their own blogs and websites. The embedded item will display contributions and usernames, with a link back to the contribution on the GuardianWitness website, so this content is always attributed to whomever created it. We've updated the FAQs section on the site to reflect this change.
Pagination
When browsing the contributions to an assignment you will now be able to page through the submissions rather than having to keep scrolling down. This should make it easier to find the content you want, particularly on very popular assignments with lots of contributions.
Search
You can now search the site by words in contribution titles and descriptions.
