New favourite emerges for Swansea City job as Cameron Toshack, Gus Poyet and Gabriel Batistuta remain in running

Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon has emerged as the new favourite with bookmakers to be named as Swansea City's next boss.

The Scot has been listed among the contenders for several days, although his odds have dramatically fallen on Monday.

Shortly before guiding Rovers to League Two play-off final victory against Newport County at Wembley, Mellon was a 12/1 outsider to take the hotseat at the Liberty Stadium.

But the 47-year-old is now the leading contender to be named as Graham Potter's successor.

Sky Bet are offering odds of 8/5 for Mellon to get the job, with Cameron Toshack now being the second favourite at 11/4.

Gus Poyet and club legend Alan Tate are further back at 5/1 while Gabriel Batistuta is at 8/1.

Michael Flynn - the man whose side Mellon's Tranmere beat to gain promotion into League One - is 10/1 to get the job.

Here are the latest betting odds in full:
