Wholesale retailer Costco has issued new guidance all of its members regarding wearing face coverings in its branches.
The update was shared over the weekend in an email to all members in which it also stated that its NHS and emergency services hours were being extended.
However, the latest update is regarding face coverings which Costco says is "relevant for short periods indoors in crowded areas" which according to the retailer includes its warehouses.
The email reads: "Following government guidelines, we recommend wearing a face covering in spaces where social distancing isn’t possible and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet.

"This is most relevant for short periods indoors in crowded areas, including our warehouses. Face coverings do not replace social distancing.
"A face covering is not the same as the surgical masks or respirators used by healthcare and other workers as part of personal protective equipment.
"Face coverings should not be used by children under the age of 2 or those who may find it difficult to manage them correctly."
Costco has also stated that although current Government guidance advice to shop alone its stores will, however, allow one guest per member to assist with purchasing.
It is not currently mandatory to wear face masks when out shopping, however face masks must be worn when travelling on public transport including all Merseyrail trains.
