New FA Cup final kick-off time, TV channel and Man Utd v Man City team news

The Emirates FA Cup final sees two giants of English football collide in a Manchester derby for the ages.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are on a treble chase after securing the Premier League title, whereas Erik ten Hag's United are looking for a domestic cup double after winning the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United.

City face Inter Milan in the Champions League final one week on from this fixture.

The Sky Blues haven't won the competition since they blasted Watford 6-0 in 2019, whereas United are looking for their first since 2016, when they beat Crystal Palace.

Here is everything you need to know about the game.

What time does the FA Cup final kick-off?

The FA Cup final between Manchester CIty and Manchester United kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, June 3rd at Wembley Stadium in London. It was originally expected to be later.

This is the first time in 12 years that an FA Cup final will be held at 3pm. London's Metropolitan Police suggested the game should be moved forward from 5.30pm given it was a derby match, the FA accepted the advice and moved the game to the earlier time.

What TV channel is the FA Cup final on?

The FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United is being broadcast live on BBC One and ITV 1.

Coverage begins on BBC One at 1.50pm, and 2.05pm for ITV 1.

You can also live stream the game using BBC IPlayer or ITV X. You will need an account set up with either of these and a TV license in order to watch.

What's the FA Cup final team news?

Anthony Martial is ruled out with a hamstring strain for The Red Devils and there is a "small chance" that Antony will feature after his knock with Chelsea's Trevor Chalobah last week. Marcus Rashford is back in the mix after a recent injury lay-off. Marcel Sabitzer and Lisandro Martinez remain long-term absentees.

Pep Guardiola says Kevin de Bruyne and Jack Grealish trained well, and are "more or less fine" after unspecified problems saw the duo miss out on City's final game of the season.

What Man Utd and Man City are saying

Marcus Rashford wants to win to preserve the legacy of Sir Alex Ferguson's famous treble-winning side of 1999. The forward said: "Making sure Man United remain the only English club to have done the Treble? That’s the most important thing."

It will be Manchester United's 21st FA Cup final, the joint-most ever with Arsenal. They have won it 12 times, but also have the joint-most final defeats along with Everton and Chelsea.

Manager Eric Ten Hag explained that it's not just about preventing City's treble charge: "it is not about stopping City. It is about us winning the cup. It's a great opportunity.

"'It is great that we have this opportunity to be in a cup final and meet City. It is a great opportunity and we fought so hard for it. We have progressed so well," he said.

"This is a good test for us. I think City have done a very good job. They play very good football so they deserve it but I don’t look at them."

Guardiola says ten Hag is a great manager, but the pair are not friends: "It's not easy the first season in the Premier League, I know myself, so that defines a really good manager. I cannot say we are friends as we are not in touch much... but I think Man United has an exceptional manager for many, many years."
