Further announcements and information will be released in the run up to November's event.
Sound Music Awards' new event is open to the public and professionals alike, and will celebrate the enduring, creative and legacy-making music scene in Liverpool.
Event director Tom Woolman said: "The Liverpool music scene is rich with talent and it’s our pleasure to bring it together to celebrate the best the city has to offer.
"It is our obligation to create opportunities for those responsible for the scene in which so many thrive and commemorate their dedication and hard work."
