New English-language paper for France

A new English-language newspaper aimed at the hordes of Anglophone expatriates and visitors in France was launched 12 days ago. The French Week claims to be the first such journal that is 100% "made in France".

The 16-page paper is published in Castillones, in the southwest, where hundreds of thousands of British, American and other English-speaking expats have homes.

"We explain to the anglophone in France what is going on around them and we add analysis and comment but also more fun things about culture, sport, leisure and gardening," its British editor-in-chief Miranda Neame told AFP.

It's a successor to the monthly French News which folded during the recent recession after publishing for 21 years in the same region.
