New emotional TV advert filled with tearful testimonies launches in aid of Ayrshire Hospice fundraising campaign

A heart warming TV advert has been launched by the Ayrshire Hospice in a bid to raise millions for a new facility.

The ad campaign will run over the next six weeks on STV putting the Ayr charity in the spotlight with the aim to reach a wider audience.

It comes as the hospice launches their bid for a new £13 million facility which will 'future proof' the Ayrshire charity for patients with life-limiting illnesses.

And viewers will have been moved by the touching testimonials given during the powerful TV ad short clip which first ran this week.

Heather Hardie a physiotherapist at the Ayrshire Hospice opens the advert telling how the hospice is a place full of “joy, life, laughter and hope.”

An Ayrshire dad who lost his wife Fiona from cancer also pays an emotional tribute to the hospice.

Gareth fights back the tears as he tells how the hospice helped his family get through “what they had to get through in life.”

Mum-of-two Fiona from Ardrossan was supported by the hospice to manage pain relief and provide respite for the family whilst she was battling bowel cancer.

Sadly in October 2015 Fiona passed away with the North Ayrshire family being able to be with her in her final moments.

Superstar Ayr fundraiser Lynn McMorrow also appears in the ad telling how she was terrified when given her brain tumour diagnosis and how the hospice were there for her.

It comes after the great-gran showed incredible spirit as she took her first steps in three years to raise cash for the hospice which she says 'saved her life'.

Hazel McIlwraith, capital campaign director, said: “To ensure the Ayrshire Hospice is ready to meet the palliative care needs of our communities for the next 30 years and beyond we need to raise £13million to deliver a facility Ayrshire can be proud of.

“The fundraising campaign will be exciting in a number of different ways to raise money to support the hospice like the Crowdfunder weekend where Lynn walked a mile to raise money for the hospice.

“The television ad will run for six week on Scottish Television and reach a much bigger audience to help our cause.

"The words of those who have experienced what the Ayrshire Hospice is all about is far more powerful and resonating and we are extremely grateful to everyone who took part.

“It’s easy to support our fundraising campaign by visiting www.helpthehospice.org or by simply texting CARING to 70560 to donate £5.”
