New emojis next month include a beaver, and updated gender options

Apple is set to unleash a range of new emojis in October when devices update with iOS 14.2 - including a helmet, a saw and a beaver.

The new emojis also feature a happy crying face, a Groucho disguise and gender-fluid wedding tuxedos and dresses, reports emojipedia.

There is also a bucket, a plunger, a hook, an accordion and a green bell pepper.

The new emojis have been agreed by the Unicode Consortium and 100 additions will come with the next operating system upgrade.

There is also a transgender symbol, bubble tea, pinched fingers, a boomerang, a dodo, a piñata, nesting dolls, a coin, an anatomical heart, lungs, a ninja and a tamale.

The update will also include new skin tones.

The next set of emojis - after the October upgrade - has already been agreed and will include a face with spiral eyes and a flaming heart.

That is likely to come in 2021
