New Edinburgh steakhouse restaurant Bar + Block to open in former Princes Street New Look

Edinburgh's Princes Street will soon become home to a brand new city centre steakhouse with the announcement that chain restaurant Bar + Block will be opening in what was formerly New Look.

Bar + Block launched its first Scottish branch on Howard Street, Glasgow last week and their next venue will be coming to the capital later this year.

The eatery, which is owned by Whitbread Restaurants, will follow the format of its other locations 'down south' and will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days week.

It boasts a menu of high-quality steaks, handmade burgers, gourmet sandwiches and grazing plates, alongside creative cocktails and craft brews.

Signature dishes include the Surf + Turf, an 8oz sirloin with a half lobster tail, the Steak Sampler with three sirloin, fillet and rump 4o steaks and the Spiral Cut Fillet.

For vegetarians and vegans, meat-free options include Cauliflower Wings and the Vegan Sloppy Joe Burger – a plant-based Beyond Burger topped with smoky chipotle.

Whitbread also owns Premier Inn and will be adding 59 rooms to the existing site on Princes Street.

You can visit the Bar + Block website to view the full menu and get a taste of what to expect when the site opens later in 2021.
