This year Edinburgh has faced non-stop uncertainty, with the global pandemic throwing a complete spanner in the works and changing people's plans and lives forever.
With the Edinburgh Fringe cancelled and the famous Hogmanay party scaled back this year, many businesses have suffered, and even sadly closed down.
But despite the current climate, plans to open a brand new revamped St James Quarter which is hoping to be a utopia for shopping and eateries, are still to go ahead.
The new St James Quarter - which will cost £1 billion to develop - is to open in Easter 2021 and a number of impressive shops, boutiques and restaurants have been confirmed.
