New Edinburgh restaurant Butta Burger goes viral with indulgent takeaway options

A new city centre restaurant has found it becoming a sensation online amongst Edinburgh foodies after launching during lockdown.

Butta Burger, based on Rose Street, was opened by a pair of local entrepreneurs and a former senior sous chef of Number One at the Balmoral and produce 'decadent' basted burgers.

Co-founder Graham Atkinson said "We were all brought together, attempting to innovate our way through this blasted pandemic.

"We all share a massive love for food and wanted to add a bit of decadence to the Edinburgh burger scene with a delivery only concept."

Newcomer restaurant Butta create their burgers from 'the finest dry aged scotch beef', with all the their cuts aged for 35+ days which 'adds a real depth of flavour'.

Seasoned ‘Butta’ is added to the restaurant's beef mix which acts as a sort of basting technique, melting during the cooking process.

For the chicken burgers, breast meat is left to marinate for 24h in special 'Buttamilk' , leaving the finished product juicy and flavoursome.

All the sauces are made in house, along with the relish and the menu seems almost never-ending with combinations of patties and toppings.

Their signature beef and onion burger comes with crispy fried onions and marrow mayo while the Reuben features salt beef, American cheese, pickles and lashings of burger sauce.

They've been running out of delivery slots nightly over the past few weeks so be sure to place an order early! Check out their full options here.
