New Edinburgh graffiti attributed to Sarah Everard case appears on Princes Street

A new piece of graffiti in Edinburgh has been attributed to the tragic Sarah Everard case, as people are asked to educate the youth of today in bold slogan.

The graffiti, which reads 'Protect your daughters, educate your sons' with the word daughters crossed out, is a claim made by feminist groups across the UK, as they urge people to teach their male children respect for women.

Posting on Twitter, user @Littlerobc said: "Saw this posted in Edinburgh Scotland and thought you would agree! #EducateYourSon."

In a blog post by HerCampus, the slogan is described as "reframing the responsibility for violence and sexual aggression where it rightfully belongs: on the perpetrator rather than the victim."

The graffiti has cropped up on Princes Street outside the shut-down TopShop, with some passersby noticing the meaning behind the message.

One anonymous source said: "Ever since the death of poor Sarah Everard, people have been coming out in numbers to support women who feel targeted by harrassment and sexual abuse.
