A fast food burger brand from England will be opening its first ever restaurant in Scotland right here in Edinburgh!
Fat Hippo, known for serving giant topped burgers and loaded fries, the independent restaurant group have six sites across the North East as well as sites in Sheffield and Nottingham.
The burger joint, which specialises in 'good old fashioned, roll up your sleeves and get it all over your face food', will be opening its doors in none other than Edinburgh's new St James Quarter.
Fat Hippo will have their very own concession at Lane 7 - the shopping complex's new bowling alley. For the less talented bowlers out there, don't panic, you don't have to play to scoff on one of the eatery's ginormous patties.
Burgers on the menu (which come with free fries as standard) will include the Tropic Thunder (jerk bacon, candied pineapple and Hellacious Hippo hot sauce), the Wild Bull (smoked bacon, cajun waffle fries, barbecue sauce, ranch sauce and jalapeños) and the PB and Double J (chunky peanut butter, bacon jam and smoked chilli jello).
Despite a thoroughly meaty menu, there are vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options available too, using plant-based patties, cajun 'facon' bits and vegan cheese.
