New Edinburgh coffee shop 'faster than the tram works' opens in former funeral services

Edinburgh coffee shop heavyweights Artisan Roast are injecting some life into a former funeral services on Leith Walk.

Promising to be 'faster than the tram works' surrounding the new venue at 72-74 Leith Walk, the new site is the fifth that the award winning coffee roastery has opened in the capital, with other cafes on Broughton Street and in Bruntsfield, Stockbridge and the St James Quarter.

The roastery was one of the first in Edinburgh to pour flat whites and offer a hipster ambience and news of their latest venue was met with much excitement on Instagram - bringing in over 600 likes on the announcement post for the new cafe.

Artisan Roast Leith Walk is currently open for takeaway but 'you will be able to stay inside in time'.

The team wrote on Instagram: "Here is some news for you! New Artisan Roast Cafe! Edinburgh, Leith Walk (72-74) @artisanroastleithwalk!

"We are here to sling some espressos and flat whites, and while still only 50% in action you can grab a coffee to go or stock up on coffee beans. We promise to be faster than the tram construction and you will be able to stay inside in no time!".

Artisan Roast Leith Walk is open every Monday - Friday from 7:00am–3pm and Saturday - Sunday 9.00am - 4pm.
