A brand new Asian street food restaurant is set to open in Edinburgh this weekend with a host of mouth-watering dishes.
Ozen Street Food will launch in the capital on Saturday (April 10), and have promised to be the city's "most colourful culinary experience."
From rainbow spring rolls to brightly coloured dumplings and bao buns, the eatery has dangled a contemporary take on pan-Asian cuisine in front of the city, with customers already desperate to get their hands on a first bite.
With fresh and fun flavours, the eatery on Rose Street North Lane will offer a concise but thought out menu to show off a range of locally sourced ingredients.
Ozen will begin taking orders in just a few days time, and have urged customers to keep an eye out for their iconic dishes, including bao buns stuffed with a choice of tender fried chicken, juicy prawns, moreish halloumi, or fresh cauliflower filling, and served with a selection of secret recipe homemade sauces.
The vivid and vibrant Vietnamese-style spring rolls are set to be a winner, not to mention fried buns bursting with Nutella, matcha or orange blossom cheesecake.
Created by Chris Thomas, 23, and Mahdi Ben Hamou, AKA ‘Mezzo’, 25, the Edinburgh-born pair have described themselves as "food-obsessed", and describe their dream to bring some new tastes to the city.
Commenting ahead of the launch, co-owner Chris explained; ‘The flavours, the brand, the energy of what we’re bringing to Edinburgh is totally new. There’s nothing else like this. The menu is bold, the presentation is playful, but most importantly the flavours are fresh and full’.
‘And it’s authentic,’ continues Mezzo; ‘We’ve had a lot of fun preparing the menu, and I think that really shows, but despite the quirky edge we’re injecting into it all, we’re remaining true to the essential flavour combinations that will give each of our dishes that unmistakable Asian kick’.
Ozen Street Food opens to the public on Saturday 10th April. Their full menu will be available to take away from the venue at 52 Rose Street North Lane, Edinburgh, and to order for delivery via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.
