Making its return in EA FC 25, Shapeshifters is one of FUT’s most unique promos, known for both pushing the game’s max rating up and featuring a good amount of never-before-seen cards.
And it seems like EA is staying true to that fame, as leaker ASY FUT — who recently leaked the whole Ultimate TOTS squad — revealed that a new Icon Diego Maradona card is scheduled to debut during Shapeshifters. Although no confirmation was given to Maradona’s rating, the leaker also claimed that the promo will include EA FC 25‘s first-ever 98-rated players. No further leaks have been revealed regarding which players, apart from El Pibe, will be featured during Shapeshifters. Based on the promo’s latest release and on the cards featured during EA FC 24 and 25‘s Winter Wildcards, however, it won’t be a wild guess to expect both a few CBs and Pelé to join in on the fray. But is the Greatest of All Time going to break the ceiling like he did in FIFA 23, or settle at 98?
When Will The Shapeshifters Teams Be Released In EA FC 25?
Based on the usual release schedule for FUT teams and the promo’s release window in FIFA 23, the first EA FC 25 Shapeshifters team is expected to debut on June 13, right after the end of Ultimate TOTS. New teams are then expected to debut every Friday until June 27, 2025.
Keep in mind that you can already get a few Shapeshifters as rewards for reaching new Season and Premium Pass levels. Just don’t be worried if you see a few others in the wild, though, as players were able to make their own via the 75,000 coins/300 FP The First Shapeshifter Evolution.
