New Dublin station dedicate solely to the best rock music storms into airwaves

A new music station focusing solely on rock music is now live and we're buzzing!

The Rock has already had several international music legends including Joe Elliott from Def Leppard, Richie Malone from Status Quo, Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy  and the drummer from AC/DC Chris Slade getting on board.

Lloyd Barber, a spokesman for The Rock, said: “[The Rock] will be a huge champion of original Irish rock acts by playing their music in prime-time listening sessions along with coordinating live “Rock Show” concerts supported with interviews released via podcasts and social media.

“This will assist bands in developing a much-needed fans base to ensure sustainability and longevity.”

Last week the station was involved with the official 30th birthday celebrations for Eddie Rockets which was held at the Button Factory and saw a selection of well-known bands and media personalities including Richie Malone from Status Quo and Irelands Got Talent Host and Radio Nova morning announcer Lucy Kennedy.
