New Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro has started his new reign on a high note by getting us all excited with official release dates for The Incredibles 3 and Lilo and Stitch 2.
During his first shareholders meeting as CEO since Bob Iger stepped down, D'Amaro announced that Lilo and Stitch 2 would hit theaters on May 26, 2028, with The Incredibles 3 to follow three weeks later on June 16, 2028 (H/T The Hollywood Reporter).
"Storytelling is at the heart of all we do," D'Amaro said during the meeting, where he reportedly "addressed the delicate balance between original storytelling and franchises" and the "cross-generational nostalgia" of franchises like Toy Story.
The live-action Lilo and Stitch movie made over $1.33 billion at the global box office in 2025, mostly due to aging millennials who grew up on the film (and also those of us who really, really wanted to see Stitch get the Baby Yoda treatment). A sequel was swiftly announced. The Incredibles 2, which hit theaters some 14 years after the first film, also hit the billion-dollar mark (and once again thanks to aging millennials who frequently say "Where is my super suit?" to themselves when no one else is around).
A live-action series based on Peter Pan's Tinkerbell, simply titled Tink, is also in the works at Disney, and let's not forget that live-action Tangled movie that just had its first casting announcement...
