New Dennistoun homes planned for former cinema site

New homes could be built on the site of a former cinema in Dennistoun.

Proposals submitted to Glasgow City Council would see the construction of 24 two-bedroom apartments on vacant land bordering Meadowpark and Marne Street, close to Alexandra Parade railway station.

The Parade Cinema used to sit on the site, built in 1921. It was last used as a cinema in 1986 before being demolished.

Plans also include for private parking spaces and bicycle storage.

Planning documents state: "The development will infill a currently vacant piece of land and will provide high-quality modern dwellings within a well sought after and highly accessible area of Glasgow."

The proposals are currently with Glasgow City Council for consideration.
