NEW DELHI: In the wake of members of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) finding discrepancies in the services of its maternity hospital during a random visit early this week, the council has ordered formation of a three-member committee to look into the matter.
NDMC vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay said that during his random visit to the hospital along with member Vishakha Sailani, problems like lack of staff, lack of canteen, insanitary conditions and no water cooler were found. Even the ultrasound machine was not working. “We gave strict instructions to the departments concerned to take necessary action to ensure availability of all these facilities. Any kind of negligence in healthcare facilities will not be tolerated and such surprise inspections will continue,” he said.
