New deal will see Derbyshire’s Transvac Systems expand US presence

A Derbyshire firm which designs and manufactures pumps and compressors for a range of industries has struck a deal which will see it expand its presence in the US.

Transvac Systems, based at Alfreton, supplies jet pumps, jet compressors, jet mixers and other products to clients involved in the oil and gas, nuclear, water, power and pharmaceuticals sectors. The company specialises in ejector technology.

Its products are currently used globally, including throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.

But now, Transvac has agreed a strategic partnership with Statiflo Corp, the US arm of Cheshire-based Statiflo - a world leader in the design and distribution of ozone gas dispersion systems, static mixers and other process equipment.

The agreement will see Statiflo sell Transvac’s products in the municipal water treatment sector across America.

The companies have had a commercial relationship for more than 30 years, mainly in European markets. Statiflo uses Transvac’s ejector technology in its gas dispersion systems.

Transvac, which was founded by chairman David Redgate and employs more than 50 staff, currently has a turnover of more than £7 million a year.

Sales manager Craig Favill said: “We’re very excited to build on our existing relationship with Statiflo to expand our technical offering in the municipal water market in the US.

Mr Fry said his company already has a 'great relationship' with Transvac (Mark Waugh Manchester Press Photography Ltd)

“The partnership will focus on the introduction of our technology for a number of key applications in water treatment.

“It is an excellent opportunity to expand the business and we are confident it will prove a successful venture.”

The partnership was recently officially launched at the WEFTEC 2019 water quality exhibition in Chicago.

WEFTEC is the world’s biggest annual water quality technical conference and exhibition, attracting thousands of water and wastewater professionals.

Statiflo managing director Gareth Fry said: “We have a great relationship with Transvac and its products complement our static mixers very well.

“We’re delighted to be expanding the partnership by focusing on the key US municipal water market, and WEFTEC was the ideal venue for the launch.”
