New deal ties Campbell to Swans until 2025

Braeden Campbell has signed an AFL contract extension with Sydney. (AAP)

Braeden Campbell will remain with Sydney until at least the end of the 2025 AFL season after signing a contract extension.

Campbell debuted in round one this year, alongside fellow academy product Errol Gulden, then earned a Rising Star nomination in round two.

A leg injury restricted the 19-year-old to eight games this season but he shapes as a vital cog in the Swans' youth-fuelled push for their next premiership.

Campbell was selected with pick No.5 in last year's draft after Sydney matched a bid from Hawthorn.

The Swans have also confirmed Callum Sinclair, who played four games this year after falling behind recruit Tom Hickey in the ruck pecking order, and Irish defender Colin O'Riordan will be at the club in 2022.

George Hewett, who performed tagging duties and a range of roles in a 120-game career at the Swans, appears certain to join Carlton as a free agent.

The league's free agency window opens on October 1.

The future of 2012 premiership forward Sam Reid is yet to be settled, while much-improved young gun Jordan Dawson has already requested a trade to Adelaide.

Dawson shapes as one of the most high-profile deals of the trade period, with the intervention of a third club likely to be needed.

The AFL's trade period runs from October 4 until October 13.
