Renewable energy producer Neoen has signed a 10-year deal to provide power from its flagship South Australian project to electricity retailer Flow Power.

The deal is for 40 megawatts from Goyder South, which is stage one of Neoen's Goyder Renewables Zone, a hybrid wind, solar, and energy storage project near Burra in SA's mid-north.

Goyder South has development approval for 1200 MW of wind generation, 600 MW of solar generation and 900 MW of battery storage, making it SA's largest renewable project.

Construction of 75 wind turbines is already underway with operations expected to begin in 2024.

Under the agreement, Flow Power will purchase close to 10 per cent of the generation capacity of the Goyder South wind farm that can then be provided to South Australian commercial and industrial electricity users.

It is the second such deal, with Neoen previously signing a 14-year contract for 100 MW with the Australian Capital Territory government.

Neoen Chairman and Chief Executive Xavier Barbaro said the signing of a second power purchase deal for Goyder South demonstrated the company's ability to secure multiple agreements within one large-scale asset.

"It underlines once again the competitiveness of our energy, in South Australia and in Australia as a whole," he said.

"More than ever, Neoen is committed to delivering affordable, reliable clean energy to its clients in Australia and around the globe."
