New day party to take place in Stokes Croft - on same day as Rave on Avon

A new multi-venue day party has been announced for Stokes Croft.

The first ever Stokes Croft Block Party will take place on the same day as Rave on Avon, which next year moves to Old Market following 11 years there.

This means there will be two major events in different parts of the city on May 16, both of which are each likely to attract thousands of people.

Lakota, the team behind the new one-day event, claim this will be "the biggest day and night party Stokes Croft has ever seen".

A spokesperson for the club said: "It’s no secret that we’ve thrown a few day parties before, however we cannot wait to unleash our most ambitious project to date on Stokes Croft this coming May.

"We aim to create a community feel that embodies Bristol’s music scene whilst donating to charities who work tirelessly in the area. Our chosen charities are St Mungos, One25 and Caring in Bristol."

Stokes Croft Block Party will take place across 13 different venues including Blue Mountain, Stokes Croft Beer Garden, The Love Inn and Lakota.

Organisers are collaborating with a number of party-starting Bristol brands including Wide Eyes, Rumble In The Jungle, Bris-Tek, Born On Road and Dazed to ensure a varied lineup of top DJs covering a range of different genres.

Headliners and more information will be announced nearer to the event.
