New date and time set for Brentford vs Bristol City clash as fixture is picked for TV coverage

Bristol City's Championship clash with Brentford has a new date.

City's trip to west London to face the Bees in their new stadium has been pushed back 24 hours after being selected for live television coverage by Sky Sports.

As a result, the Championship fixture will now take place on Wednesday, February 3 in west London, with kick off at 7.45pm.

The game has previously been postponed twice after COVID-19 outbreaks in both camps, with City's first trip to the Bees' new ground delayed as a result.

Both clubs will be hoping though that it is now third time lucky for the fixture as the two clubs look to continue their respective quests to try and gain promotion to the Premier League.

Brentford currently sit third in the second tier, two points behind second-placed Swansea City with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Dean Holden's City side are ninth in the division with 36 points from 24 games, with the Robins eight points behind the Bees and six behind Bournemouth, who currently occupy the final play-off spot.

Both sides have two Championship matches prior to facing each other, with City next in league action next week, after their FA Cup fourth round tie with Millwall on Saturday.

The Robins then face Huddersfield Town at Ashton Gate next week, before travelling to face Derby County on Saturday, January 30.
