New data shows Covid-19 suppressed in majority of the 37 neighbourhoods in West Lothian and no deaths in almost a month

Covid-19 has been suppressed in the majority of neighbourhoods in West Lothian.

The latest Public Health Scotland data shows there were only two infections in West Lothian and 50 across the week between April 13 to 19.

The weekly positivity rate of 27.3 per 100,000 below takes West Lothian below the national average of 27.9.

The figures also show there have been 8054 positive tests returned in the county since the start of the pandemic last year.

The PHS heatmap shows that Covid-19 has been suppressed in 28 of the 37 neighbourhoods in the West Lothian.

The map reveals that the nine neighbourhoods who recorded positive cases of Covid-19 in the last week were Howden, Livingston Village and Eliburn South, Broxburn Kirkhill, Ladywell, Blackburn, West Calder and Polbeth, Dedridge East, Uphall, Dechmont and Ecclesmachan and Bathgate East.

Howden was the most infectious region with 7 cases among their 4711 residents in the last week.

And the PHS data table shows the last Covid-19 related death in the region was on March 27.
