July 06--NFL tailback Darren McFadden, who in March joined the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent after seven seasons with the Oakland Raiders, has put his home in Oakland on the market for $2.3 million.
The gated Mediterranean-style home, built in 2007, sits above the Leona Canyon Regional Open Space Preserve on about half an acre with city and ocean views.
Some 5,239 square feet of living space includes a double-height entry, formal living and dining rooms, an eat-in kitchen, five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The master suite sports a private balcony, a soaking tub and a fireplace.
Outdoors, the landscaped grounds include a covered patio, an expanse of grass and a swimming pool with a spa.
McFadden bought the house in 2008, his rookie season with the Raiders, for $2.15 million.

McFadden, selected fourth overall in the 2008 draft, is expected to split carries in a Cowboys backfield that saw talented rusher DeMarco Murray join the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent in March. The 27-year-old's deal with Dallas will pay him up to $5.85 million over the next two seasons.
Dogged by injury throughout his career, McFadden appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders last season, rushing for 534 yards while making 12 starts. He has totaled 4,247 yards on the ground and 25 rushing touchdowns in seven NFL seasons.
