New dad Jake Quickenden and girlfriend Sophie's special agreement to keep happy home

Jake Quickenden and girlfriend Sophie Church welcomed their son, Leo, ten weeks ago.

And the couple has come to a special agreement to ensure that their relationship thrives as they juggle life with a newborn and all the tasks that come with it.

Former X Factor sensation Jake, 32, told how he and his partner prioritise that they have a harmonious home during a chat with the Mirror and opened up on one rule they have put in place to stop any unnecessary spats.

Jake shared how he and Sophie - who is also mother to son Freddie, six, from a previous relationship - make sure to stop any resentment or anger bubbling up between them as they tackle sleepless nights with their new tot.

The Fully Monty on Ice personality explained that if the pair exchange any cross words when getting up for the night feed that they nip it in the bud before it can escalate into anything bigger.

The reality TV star - who has been open about his anxiety and how he uses exercise to keep his mental health in check - exclusively told: "We have made a decision that whatever we say to each other during a night feed that we just forget about in the morning."

Candidly speaking on how feeding the baby in the night can be tough, he continued: "You get pretty angry at night when you are both knackered, on the night feed when he is crying and stuff, so we made that conscious decision that anything that is said in the night is forgotten in the morning."

Jake also explained how he has vowed to Sophie that he will no longer fight with online trolls.

Since the birth of son Leo, Jake - who is working with greeting card company Thortful to promote mental wellbeing and reaching out to people who may need cheering up - has been battling online haters who have been disgustingly targeting the newborn.

Sharing on why he struggles to ignore the evil comments, Jake told: "I think the reason why I do it with Leo is because he can’t fight his battles or comment.

"You wouldn’t think anyone out there would be nasty about a 10-year-old baby. I can’t comprehend it is the last thing I would do online they’re so full of hate and that is their way of getting it out."

Telling how he plans to stop replying to the haters, he added: "Me and Soph made an agreement the other day that I am not going to argue with the trolls anymore.

"I am just going to ignore them, block them and focus on all the nice messages," he went on to add: "You do kind of get lost in the nasty ones."
