New CUPRA Formentor SUV on the way

IT’S been designed exclusively for SEAT’s CUPRA sporting and performance brand and first examples of the new Formentor coupe SUV will be delivered to British customers before the end of the year.

The new SUV comes with a wide range of 1.5 and 2.0-litre petrol engines with power outputs from 150 to 310PS plus two plug-in hybrids - rated at 204 and 245PS - which pair a 1.4-litre petrol power unit with a 115PS (85kW) electric motor, powered by a 13kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Prices start from £27,300 and rise to £43,840 with six trim levels on offer - V1, V2, VZ1, VZ2, VZ3 and VZ Edition.

Top-of-the-range models come with the VW Group’s 310PS 2.0-litre engine, DSG auto transmission and all-wheel drive and offer impressive performance, accelerating from rest to 62mph in just 4.9 seconds.

Spec levels are high, with even the entry-level Formentor V1 boasting 18in alloys, ambient interior lighting, auto-dimming mirror, LED head and tail lights and rain sensing wipers.

There's a digital cockpit with a 10.25in binnacle, 12in navigation and multimedia screen with voice control, rear parking sensors, climate control, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, forward collision warning with automatic braking, road sign display, high beam assist and keyless entry and start.
