New crime drama filmed around Loch Lomond set to premiere this week

A new crime drama filmed in and around Loch Lomond launches tomorrow night (August 17) on the Alibi channel.

Annika was recorded in a host of familiar locations - including Loch Lomond Shores, Helensburgh’s Victoria Halls, Helensburgh Cricket and Rugby Club, Kidston Park, Luss Village, Largs Boat Haven, the Isle of Bute, and Loch Katrin.

The gritty drama stars the Award-winning Nicola Walker, who featured in Spooks, with an all-star support cast, including Paul McGann, of the cult classic Withnail and I the eighth Dr in Dr Who and more recently 'Luther', and Katie Leung, who played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films.

Annika is six-part series based on the hugely successful BBC Radio 4 drama, written by Nick Walker, of the same name - and follows DI Annika Strandhed, an enigmatic detective heading up a specialist Marine Homicide Unit.

The new series starts at 9pm on Alibi: Sky channel 132, Virgin 126, BT 312.
