New Covid rules mean Newcastle Snow White panto can return early after outbreak

New Covid guidelines issued by the Government have meant the Newcastle Theatre Royal panto will be returning quicker than expected after an outbreak of the virus among the company.

Performances of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs had been cancelled until Monday, December 27 inclusive for those affected to self-isolate.

However the Government recently changed the length of the self-isolation period after a person tests positive, previously 10 days.

People who receive negative lateral flow results on day six and day seven of their self-isolation period – with tests taken 24 hours apart – will now have to self-isolate for seven days and not the full 10 days.

A Theatre Royal Facebook post explained: "Following the recent Government announcement regarding an update to self-isolation guidelines, we are delighted that all performances of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on Sunday, December 26 and Monday, December 27 will now be able to go ahead.

"All bookings for these performances remain valid, even if you have requested a credit or refund.

"Customers do not need to take further action – bookings have been automatically reinstated as per the date, performance time and seats of your original booking and your refund or credit note request cancelled."

Performances running up to Friday, December 24 are still unable to go ahead due to positive cases of Covid-19 within the Snow White company.

If you have tickets for these performances, the theatre has said it will be in touch with you over the coming days with your options.

The production stars Newcastle panto favourites Danny Adams , Clive Webb and Chris Hayward while the production also sees X Factor star Joe McElderry joins the cast.
