AHMEDABAD: The city accounted for one-third of the daily cases of Gujarat at 874 out of 2,502 on Tuesday, recording dip of 6% in daily cases. In comparison, the state recorded drop of 14% from 2,909 on Monday.
It was the lowest daily tally for Gujarat in 35 days and for Ahmedabad in 36 days. Mortality on the other hand increased from 21 on Monday to 28 on Tuesday.
However, in major shift eight cities accounted for 10 deaths and remaining 18 mortalities were recorded from rest of Gujarat - giving 2% mortality rate.
With discharge of 7,487 patients, the active cases got dropped to 33,631. After a fortnight, the patients on ventilator went below 200 at 199 in Gujarat.
