A new Covid-19 vaccine centre will be opening in a Nottinghamshire town "within days", the Government's Housing Minister has said.
Newark MP Robert Jenrick told Nottinghamshire Live he has been kept informed of the plans as he confirmed a vaccine centre will be opening in the area.
The district will be one of the last in Nottinghamshire to be covered by a vaccine centre.

Mr Jenrick said: "I'm pleased a vaccine centre will be opening in Newark within days. It's really important to add a specialist vaccine centre to the existing GP-led efforts."
The Conservative MP and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government was unable to confirm the location of the centre.
Newark and Sherwood District also said it did not have a confirmed date or location for when the centre would be opening.
A spokeswoman for the NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group said: "A number of Local Vaccination Services have already gone live with more sites set to go online in the next few days and weeks.
"This is a very careful process and several rigorous checks take place to ensure safety, accessibility, power supplies, security and many other factors. It is a process that takes time which cannot be rushed and we are grateful for the public’s patience."
