New Covid-19 infections up at 16 in Madhya Pradesh, active cases rise to 115

BHOPAL: A total of 16 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday taking the tally of Covid cases so far in the state to 7,92,854.

Active cases rose further to 115 on Sunday from the 107 cases reported the previous day, as per the health bulletin released by the directorate of health. Earlier, it was on September 1 that there were 83 active cases and since then there were more active cases everyday in the state.

Maximum cases were reported from Indore where eight people were tested Covid positive. Two new case reported each from Bhopal, Balaghat and Sagar districts. Dhar and Rajgarh districts reported one new Covic case each. New cases were reported in single digits from all the districts of the state. No new case was reported from the remaining 45 districts of the state.

Positivity rate — the number of people testing positive out every 100 samples tested — inched to 0.02% on Sunday from 0.01% reported the previous day.

Around 56,655 samples were tested on Sunday and of it, 16 were found positive. Thus, on an average, 1 person out of every 3,500 who were tested, was found to be positive.

A total of eight people recovered from the disease on Sunday taking the count of those recovered from Covid in the state so far to 7,82,215.

Apart from it, no death was reported in the state on Sunday and the death toll due to Covid-19 remained at 10,524.
