New Coronation Street trailer shows dying Sinead left alone as Daniel cheats on her with Bethany

A shock new Coronation Street trailer shows grieving Daniel Osbourne in a clinch with besotted Bethany Platt as his wife Sinead dies of cancer.

The new dad is comforted by Bethany, who has fallen in unrequited love for him in scenes to be screened on the soap next week.

"Don't be nice to me, I don't deserve it," he tells her.

"Yes you do," she says firmly as they gaze at each other.

Bethany, played by Lucy Fallon, has fallen head over heels for journalist Daniel, played by Rob Mallard, after he helped and encouraged her as a writer.

Meanwhile his wife Sinead, who is dying of cancer, waits for him back at their flat after the pair row over an early Christmas lunch with Daniel and their loved-ones.

"Go and don't bother coming back," she tells him.

Ken Barlow later tells his shattered daughter-in-law, played by Katie McGlynn, that he's going to go out and find him for her - but will he find Daniel with Bethany?

Corrie fans have been concerned that Daniel might add to Sinead's pain after she was given the devastating news that she had only weeks left to live.

She discovered on their wedding day that her cervical cancer had returned and spread and is now terminal.

Sinead, who has a baby boy Bertie with Daniel, is trying to face up to her final days but how will she cope with this setback?

The dramatic trailer also shows a riot breaking out at the prison where David Platt is being held, along with rapist Josh Tucker.

"This is gonna be brilliant, can't wait. This is why Corrie is the best," said one fan.
