New Converse change from white into rainbow colours when you go into the sun

A faithful staple of wardrobes all over the country, a new edition Converse has just launched - and we've never seen anything like it.

As the American shoe brand has just launched a magical, UV-activated shoe that changes colour when it enters the sun.

Having paired up with US-based Chinatown Market, the intriguing new Converse turn to a rainbow colour when exposed to UV-rays, as if by magic.

The intriguing new shoes were first unveiled on Instagram earlier this week, showing how the fabric changes colour to a combination of blue, orange and pink when placed under a UV torch.

The post as since racked up loads of comments from impressed fans, with Chinatown Market founder and designer Mike Cherman speaking to Sneaker News about the incredible technology. He said, "I think that's what's so fun about this project. It makes the shoe more than just a shoe. It's a conversation pieces, something that's unique the wearer."

If you do want to get your hands on a pair of the unique rainbow shoes yourself, the collection is set to launch on the Chinatown Market website on Saturday July 20 at 08:01AM UK time.

"These hues change in their own way, and some colours will last longer while others will last for a shorter time period.

"It's the beauty of the shoes: how unique they are.

"It changes with you. You go to a music festival, the shoes are all bright and crazy in the sunlight, and the moment you step inside a tent, they go back to their pastel base and are different. That's what's so fun."
