New comedy club to open in Nottingham

A new comedy club is to open in the basement of a city centre brewery.

As the name suggests, the Castle Rock Comedy Club, will be housed at Castle Rock Brewery in Queensbridge Road, in a former beer cellar dubbed The Old Cold Store.

The club launched in May with a one-off event but the club has been given a fresh lease of life courtesy of East Midlands promoters The Doorstep Comedy Club.

The first event will be on Saturday, September 21 and will feature Richard Massara as the MC, plus Sean Percival, Rob Coleman and Aussie headliner Thomas Green, who now lives in Nottingham.

Tickets are £12.50 in advance from thedoorstepcomedyclub.com and in person at The Vat & Fiddle, the Castle Rock pub next door to the brewery.

There are also £10 concessions for seniors and students.

The on the door price is £15.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8.30pm. It is expected to last 2 hours and 30 minutes.

"The line-up has been hand picked to ensure a smooth, flowing show full of brilliantly crafted jokes, stories and gags aimed at giving the audience a top quality experience," says Sam Moult from Doorstep.

"With years of experience combining the acts there will definitely be something to laugh about."
