New cocktail list is just what the town ordered ... and one concoction is named after the Paisley Daily Express

One of Paisley’s most popular night-time venues will be serving up some of the town’s finest cocktails this weekend.

Clubbers at the Viennas trio of nightclubs can sip on an ‘87, bound to go down well with St Mirren fans, or perhaps a Paisley Panda, as well as a tipple to celebrate Paisley’s own timelord David Tennant with the Dr Woo Who.

The Paisley Pattern has a summery flavour and of course there’s a Paolo Martini on the new menu in honour of the town’s famous singer, who has just released new music online.

The ingredients are all under wraps until it’s launched on Friday, but bosses have confirmed the PDE cocktail is ‘red all over’.

Viennas was the former headquarters of the Paisley Daily Express and venue manager Stephen Adams said it was fun to create the themed cocktails.

He said: “We are very excited about the launch of our new Paisley-themed cocktail menu. Vienna’s and Blur is a Paisley institution, just like the Paisley Daily Express.

“This is why we wanted to honour Renfrewshire’s leading paper with a delicious cocktail named after it, especially as our venue was once the home of the Paisley Daily Express.”

The cocktail menu will be launched today, which is World Cocktail Day, in Vienna’s SkyBar lounge and Blur.

Stephen said they’d also decided to donate funds from every sale of the PDE cocktail on Friday and Saturday to the charity Home-Start Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, which supports young families in the area.

“We also decided to donate funds from every sale of the PDE this weekend to a local charity,” said Stephen.

“The work Home-Start do with families in the community is invaluable, which is why we have chosen them.”
