New cocktail bar to open in Birmingham's Custard Factory

A new cocktail bar is launching in Birmingham's Custard Factory.

A trio of bar managers in the city have teamed up to open the new venue called Passing Fancies in the Digbeth district.

Tommy Matthews, Matt Arnold and Eve Green bring experience from stints with venues such as Couch, The Edgbaston and Grain & Glass.

The new venue, which is due to open in September, will have capacity for 54 covers and its name is a nod to the launch team's vow to regularly change the menu and stay from having a set theme.

Mr Matthews said: "At our core is our passion for what we do, the stories we share and the people we share them with.

"Passing Fancies is an extension of us, a place where everyone can gather to experience the comforting excellence of high-end beverages and build fond memories.

"We want to ensure that our staff feel as valued as our customers. It's important to us to give back to the industry that has given so much to us."
