New Co-Op 'The Witcher' Game Leaks: Is CD Projekt Red Doing a Spin-Off?

A new leak from an unnamed source has claimed that "The Witcher" is getting a co-op game from CD Projekt Red in the future, bringing a gaming format to the franchise that it has never been seen before.

CD Projekt Red already has several "The Witcher" projects on the horizon, but the leak suggests there may be one more in the pipeline that the studio has not officially talked about.

New Co-Op 'The Witcher' Game Leaks Online

According to a report by MP1st, an unnamed source claimed CD Projekt Red has an unannounced title that is a free-to-play co-op action RPG, placing it in a different category from the mainline "The Witcher" games.

Moreover, it will also be unlike Project Sirius, which CD Projekt Red has officially acknowledged as a spin-off with multiplayer components alongside a single-player experience, as this project currently targets PC and mobile only, with no mention of consoles in the details shared.

The development studio behind the game has not been confirmed, but MP1st pointed to the March 2025 partnership between CD Projekt Red and Scopely as a likely connection.

Scopely is a mobile studio known for major titles like "Marvel Strike Force" and "Star Trek Fleet Command." Neither company disclosed the exact IP they are collaborating on, but CD Projekt Red had previously expressed interest in bringing "The Witcher" or "Cyberpunk 2077" universe to mobile.

During a Q1 2026 earnings briefing, CD Projekt stated that the Scopely project "is definitely not a story for 2026," signaling it remains well into development with no near-term reveal planned.

What to Expect from the New Co-Op Game?

The leaked game is reportedly set in the year 1230, during a period when Geralt of Rivia was still a young Witcher. Rather than playing as Geralt, players will create their own customizable Witcher character, with options for gender and appearance typical of multiplayer RPGs.

Gameplay centers on taking on contracts to hunt monsters across environments familiar to fans of the series, including dark forests, vibrant villages, and haunted ruins. A school-based skill system shapes each player's combat style, with access to different witcher signs and potion brewing.

The combat is reportedly designed to reward precision, with timed blocks, dodges, parries, and executions playing a central role in how fights play out.

New 'Witcher' Leaks Ahead of New DLC, Sequel

The leak comes at a particularly active time for the franchise as CD Projekt Red recently unveiled "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past," a new story expansion serving as a prelude to the upcoming "The Witcher 4."

The DLC has a confirmed release date set for next year, giving fans of the original game a reason to return to the Continent before the sequel arrives.

"The Witcher 4" itself was officially revealed at The Game Awards and has been one of the most talked-about upcoming RPGs since its announcement. CD Projekt Red is developing the sequel as a new chapter in the franchise, with Ciri taking the lead role instead of Geralt.

With a new DLC, a mainline sequel, and now an unannounced co-op title all reportedly in the works, the "The Witcher" universe appears to be heading into one of its busiest stretches in years.
