New Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery will wear No. 32

David Montgomery had his number called at Pick 73 in the 2019 NFL Draft, and now he officially has the number he’ll wear as a running back for the Chicago Bears.

Montgomery will don No. 32 for the Bears, which was the same number he wore at Iowa State.

Here are past Bears to wear No. 32

  • Al Grygo (1944-45)
  • Allen Smith (1947-48)
  • Johnny Lujack (1948-51)
  • Leon Campbell (1952-54)
  • Lionel Taylor (1959)
  • Ralph Kurek (1965-70)
  • Charlie Ford (1971-73)
  • Chris Brewer (1987)
  • Garland Rivers (1987)
  • Lemuel Stinson (1988-92)
  • Dwayne Joseph (1995-96)
  • Ricky Bell (1997)
  • Edgar Bennett (1998-99)
  • Marlon Barnes (2000)
  • Leon Johnson (2001-02)
  • Todd Johnson (2004)
  • Cedric Benson (2005-07)
  • Kahlil Bell (2009-12)
  • Michael Ford (2013)
  • Senorise Perry (2014)
  • Deiondre’ Hall (2016-17)
  • John Franklin III (2018)

Hopefully, Montgomery can bring some luck to No. 32, which hasn’t exactly been the product of greatness in Chicago.

Montgomery was the Bears’ first selection in the 2019 NFL Draft at Pick 73, where GM Ryan Pace traded up to get him.

Last season at Iowa, Montgomery rushed for 1,216 yards and 13 touchdowns for a college-career total of 2,925 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Montgomery is expected to make a push for the starting job in a running backs room that also consists of Tarik Cohen and Mike Davis.
