New Chelsea 2019/20 Nike kit: Blues set to follow in Man United's footsteps with shock move

The end of the 2018/19 season is fast approaching and it won't be long before we see what kits Chelsea will be wearing come August.

Nike mixed things up with the team's home shirt for this term by introducing red and white stripes in a nod to the past, while the yellow away kit has proved extremely popular.

There has already been a bit of information about the shirts Maurizio Sarri's side will wear next season but we have yet to see any images doing the rounds on social media.

According to Footy Headlines, the home shirt will be predominantly blue with some red and white trim and it will also feature a subtle graphic of Stamford Bridge on the front.

Chelsea are also due to be back in white next season for their away kit, with the club's third shirt believed to be black and orange like they wore during the 2010/11 season.

Well, according to the same website, the Blues will also have a fourth kit for the first time come the start of August.

It is believed that Nike will release a fourth shirt for Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea next season, although it is worth pointing out that this has yet to be confirmed by the club or the sportswear giant.

Footy Headlines claim that the team's fourth kit will actually be mainly blue and worn during cup competitions at home and in Europe.

It's not the first time some teams have worn a separate kit for the cup as Borussia Dortmund currently have one and many will also remember Manchester United's European shirt when they won the Champions League 20 years ago.

Another idea from Nike to generate even more revenue, you can guarantee that it won't go down very well with many supporters.
