A former Maitland tennis coach has had a new charge levelled against him - of having an unlawful relationship with a minor.
Todd Ramsey Woods faced Newcastle Local Court from his solicitor's office via video-link on Wednesday afternoon.
The court heard Mr Woods faced seven charges - up from the original six filed against him last July.
Those six charges included three counts of inciting aggravated indecency - victim under 16 and under authority, two counts of inciting aggravated indecency - victim over 16 and under authority and one count of indecent assault.
The new charge included in court documents this week was one count of being an adult having an unlawful relationship with a child.
It has been alleged that the offences took place while Mr Woods was a tennis coach at East Maitland in the 1990s and 2000s.
Magistrate Janine Lacy on Wednesday adjourned the matter to Newcastle Local Court on March 31.
A case conference is due to be held on March 4.
